The Bergen Mask Task Force is a grassroots community organization comprised of over 400 volunteers who are creating a variety of products including cotton surgical masks for frontline and essential workers.

Just over a month ago, medical professionals were wearing the N95 mask for upwards of a week and sterilizing their one mask in the oven at night. BMTF sprang into action developing and making a cotton mask designed to cover the N95 in order to act as a washable barrier that would help extend the life of the N95.  In constant communication with medical teams, they innovated and developed a variety of PPE in order to serve tens of thousands of workers in the NJ and NY areas. To date the BMTF has made over 15,000 masks and headbands and delivered to over 60 hospitals, police departments, fire departments, doctor's offices, retirement homes, convents, transit workers and rehabilitation centers.
